CKC Ch. Clearfires Alley Oop CD CGC TT

View Pedigree

Oopie was whelped by Abbey on October 18, 1997.

By July of 1998, Oopie had finished her championship. Between May and July of 2000, Oopie had not only completed her CD, but also passed her temperament test and obtained her CGC during Fun Days at Rockwood Park. Oopie is currently training to obtain her CDX.

From time to time, Oopie loves to help out with the therapeutic dogs who visit senior citizens' homes. It's during these visits that Oopie and the rest of the Dog-Gone Dancers put on a square dancing show, much to the delight of everyone who witnesses the unique display. Oopie, her handler Wendy Bennett and the rest of the Dog-Gone Dancers were invited to display their square dancing skills at the 13th Canadian National Square and Round Dance Convention that was held in Saint John, New Brunswick, on July 18-20, 2002. The convention was attended by square and round dancers from all over North America, and we heard that they all were amazed and impressed to see the only known square dancing dog troupe in the world!

Of course, all the attention she garnered from her appearance in the convention has really gone to her head. She parades around the house like a little princess and seems to believe that she deserves preferential treatment over the other dogs.

If we thought Oopie was tough to deal with before, we didn't know how good we had it! Oopie is now a MOVIE STAR! Oopie appeared in a made-for-TV movie that was filmed in Saint John, New Brunswick. The movie is called Open Heart and stars Megan Follows of Anne of Green Gables fame. The movie premiered on Movie Central on March 16, 2004, and then aired on CBC Television in the fall of 2004.

Here's a picture of Oopie with Megan.
